Temperatures are falling and our summer togs just aren't doing the trick. It's time for warmer gear. Harriet, Judy and Tamara met Roshawnda Foster, sales person extraordinaire, in the Saks Fifth Avenue dressing room for a preview of the freshest fall fashions. Clothes lined the walls, accessories were piled high and plenty of shoes sat there to complement the latest looks.

Celebrated fashion designer Abi Ferrin, 30, whose Los Angeles success was derailed by a bad relationship, tells how she left California in 2006 "with less than nothing, $50,000 in debt" - and made her comeback in Texas.

The career of fashion designer Abi Ferrin, 30, may appear an out-of-the gate success, with a 2003 young-girl-makes-good start in Hollywood, where she dressed the starlets, to beating the 2007 field in Stanley Korshak's Texas' Next Top Designer award, to showing at this year's New York Fashion Week and winning an ever-widening circle of acclaim and clients.

Christian Louboutin was in Dallas working with me to fit models and put the finishing touches on a Stanley Korshak fashion show for the Leukemia Society. It was 1998 and to the best of our knowledge, no one had ever produced a shoe fashion show in America before. We were making shoe history together.

Ed McMahon would love introducing Johnathan Hayden. At only nineteen years old, he has a focus and willingness to work far beyond his years. As a high school sophomore he enrolled in a basic sewing class, the kind most kids take for an easy A. They made a blanket and a pair of shorts. Johnny enjoyed it, but until he watched his first season of Project Runway, the clothing design reality show, he never thought of high fashion as a career.

The growing concerns about the economy, the environment and societal over-indulgence, have spawned a variety of "one-dress" dressing experiments.
