Traveling, whether for business or pleasure, can be exciting and exhilarating or it can be annoying and exhausting. Sometimes it's both, but always your own attitude and preparedness can make or break a trip.

We've compiled a list of Do's for getting from the parking lot to plane - we hope these tips help make your next trip more enjoyable.

And, if you don't take a few precautions to protect your finances while traveling, especially abroad, you could fall victim to theft, fraud and a lot of headaches trying to recover your expenses.

Have you ever lost your passport or discovered it had expired days before your trip departure? Don’t panic, I have some good news – you can get a replacement passport easily and painlessly if you live in Dallas or any other city with a Federal Passport Office (see: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_4312.html for a map of locations).

Early last week everyone in my sbcglobal email contact folder received the following message:

"Awful Situation!!!!!  Judy Coyle

I'm writing this with tears in my eye, My family and I came down here to West Midlands,United Kingdom, for a short vacation and got mugged on our way back to the hotel where we are staying, all cash, credit card and  cell phone been stolen of us luckily still  have our passports with us but don't have enough money to sort the bills so we can get out of here.

Nothing grabs my attention quite as quickly as someone behind me on an airplane sneezing uncontrollably. Avoiding germs when traveling can be difficult, but there are ways to dodge them, or at least reduce the chance that your fellow travelers will infect you.

I'm a traveler and the birth of my first son did not slow me down; we made 11 trips before his first birthday.  He was an easy travel companion, if he was dry and warm he was happy.

What’s the true measure of a happy traveler? Speed and grace. A girl just can’t have fun if she’s weighted down by heavy suitcases bulging with wayward fabrics and uncooperative shoes. The first rule of packing for a trip this season is layering. The second rule is fabric content.
